Keto-friendly snacks: Brie Wrapped in Black Forest Ham

When starting out on keto, I have found that people many struggle stay creative in coming up fresh, new ideas with keto-friendly snacks. Well I’m here to share another one of my ideas Brie wrapped in Black Forest Ham with you. It’s a simple, and easy to prepare keto snack that will give your fat macros a boost when you need it.

From experience over the years it’s all too common that early keto-ers just starting out a low carb diet, seem to end up buying the same handful of high fat foods to snack on. You need to be imaginative though, and try some new ideas for your keto-friendly snacks.

I’m here to tell you this – you’ve got to keep up variety. I don’t have to quote statistics to tell you that with so many dieting attempts failing out there one of the most common complaints is people get bored of similar tasting meals.

Fortunately, as you may already know – the fat is where all the flavour is at!

Keto-friendly snacks: Brie Wrapped in Black Forest Ham

Ingredients

  • 60g Ham (German-style, Black Forest is great!)
  • 60g Brie Cheese

Method

  1. Cut the brie into rectangular pieces
  2. Warm the Brie in the microwave until soft, but not melted (really, less than 30 secs should do it!)
  3. Place the black forest ham onto a chopping board
  4. Tightly wrap the warmed cheese with the cool ham

I almost feel silly writing a recipe for this simple treat – but I really do want to say time and time again, keto is easy! And with that I agree that yes there are amazing flavours that can be achieved in the kitchen, sure, but as my family knew growing up: simple, and practical food often does taste the best.
